I was talking with a friend of mine that has a body shop and works on HD's (the "High Dollar" bike) and was looking to see if he had a straight pipe extension for my Savage. He couldn't find anything in house but we took a trip to Autozone (Autodummies for those of you familiar) anyhow... We bought an extension tip for exhaust pipes (chrome, 9 inch, turn down) and bam... instant turn down drag pipe. If you really want the straight pipe sound, you got it. I love a mean, deep, loud sounding bike. My Harley buddies love it too. The myth about the "wind traveling up the pipe and warping valves" has not happened whatsoever. I love the sound and I am looking forward to removing the white spacer and adjusting that mixture screw out. I still have great torque at bottom end as well as more top end power and speed (contrary to what some people told me about running straight drag pipes).
And all for about the cost of $4.00 for the turn down.
Warning: this is extrememly loud if you are not used to loud bikes... I have gotten used to it, but you will disturb neighbors, rattle windows, and set off car alarms.... yea baby!!!
